AIMS AND SCOPE

MEΘEXIS Journal of Research in Values and Spirituality is a double-anonymous peer-reviewed journal dedicated to research on values and spirituality, including their meanings, historical and contemporary significance, cultural contexts, practices, and methods of inquiry.

MEΘEXIS Journal publishes original research articles in Philosophy, Ethics, Cultural Studies, Anthropology, Social Sciences, Religious Studies, Patristic Studies, and related fields, with a particular focus on the relationship between values and spirituality, understood as the human search for meaning, transcendence, inner transformation, and forms of engagement with ultimate questions. It encompasses religious and non-religious expressions of inner life, ethical formation, contemplative and spiritual practices, and their philosophical, cultural, historical, and social dimensions. The journal also publishes book reviews and critical reviews of relevant books in the field.

MEΘEXIS Journal targets an international academic audience, including researchers, university faculty, doctoral and graduate students, and scholars. It also invites contributions that appeal to researchers working across fields on topics related to the journal's area of interest.

MEΘEXIS Journal may publish special issues devoted to specific research topics within the journal’s scope. Special issues bring together original contributions addressing a common theme and may be proposed by the Editors or developed through a dedicated call for papers. When appropriate, a special issue may be coordinated by a Guest Editor or Guest Editors with relevant expertise in the topic. Guest Editors work in collaboration with the Editors-in-Chief and follow the journal’s editorial and ethical policies. All submissions to special issues are subject to the same double-anonymous peer-review and editorial standards as regular submissions.
