Umut Asanova, PhD in Philosophy, is Head of the Department of Natural and Humanities at The Eurasian International Medical University, Bishkek, Kyrgyz Republic. She is member of the Council for Research in Values and Philosophy (Washington DC, USA). Dr. Umut Asanova published research papers focused on the Kyrgyz cultural and spiritual tradition, including Cengiz Aytmatov un Esrelerinde Kültür Bunalımı Felsefesi (Bilge, S.24, Bahar), Philosophy of Ecological Ethics Education, Considering the Issyk-Kul Lake Remediations Mechanisms (in `Lake Issyk-Kul: Its Natural Environment`, Springer), or The Essence of the Environmental Education (in `Ecology and Health`, Bishkek).

Asel Abdurakhmanova holds a Master’s degree in Social Sciences, Philology, English Language, and Literature from Kyrgyz State National University and MSc degree in Applied Social Psychology from Moscow Institute of Psychoanalysis. Asel published several articles on the impact of the UN programs on education processes in Africa, reducing poverty, and empowerment of sustainable development, that were issued in Lesotho, Uganda, and the USA. For the last few years, she has been working over the philosophical problems of self-cognition, preparing it as a thesis for defense for PhD degree. Since 2015, Asel has been Head of the UN Resident Coordination Office in Lesotho, then in Uganda, and Sustainable Development Officer at the UN Development Coordination Office, in Addis Ababa in Ethiopia, Regional Office for Africa. Since 2002 Asel started working for the UN in Kyrgyzstan.
