Jānis (John) Tālivaldis Ozoliņš
is Professor at the
Catholic Theological College, the University of Divinity, Melbourne, Professor
of Philosophy and Theology, University of Notre Dame, Australia, Permanent
Honorary Fellow at the Institute of Philosophy and Sociology and Visiting
Professor at the School of History and Philosophy, University of Latvia. He was
Inaugural Crawford Miller Visiting Research Fellow at St. Cross College, Oxford
and former Professor of Philosophy at the Australian Catholic University. He
was Visiting Professor at the Wuhan University, China and the University of St.
Thomas, USA. He is Editor of Analysis and Metaphysics, former Editor of Res
Disputandae/Ethics Education, and an editorial consultant on a number of
international refereed journals. He has interests in the metaphysics of
Aquinas, Eastern philosophy, philosophy of education and applied ethics and has
numerous publications in these areas. His work has been translated into French,
Spanish, Turkish, Polish, Ukrainian and Chinese. He has also published in his
native language, Latvian. His most recent publications include Education and
the Pursuit of Wisdom (London: Routledge, 2019); Civil Society, Education and
Human Formation (London: Routledge, 2017).
